FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Ottawa, ON — October 30, 2025
Beacon North Welcomes Robyn Bright as Strategic Advisor
As global affairs grow increasingly complex, Beacon North Strategies is expanding its expertise to help clients navigate the evolving intersection of foreign policy, international advocacy, and Canadian politics.
This evolution reflects the firm’s growing focus on international partnerships and cross-border strategy, including through its Post-Secondary & Innovation practice, which helps Canadian institutions connect globally and strengthen their impact through strategic collaboration. It builds on a strong foundation of foreign policy and development experience led by Stephanie Mitton, Founder and CEO of Beacon North Strategies, who has led and advised international-focused campaigns on health, student mobility, and humanitarian relief, driving domestic and global impact. The team also includes Andrew Defor, who began his career at the World Health Organization advising G20 Ministers and managing high-level communications with the EU, African Union, and World Bank, and Chelsea Oleniuk, whose diplomatic and political background spans Parliament Hill and foreign embassies in Canada.
Against this backdrop, Beacon North welcomes Robyn Bright as Strategic Advisor.
Robyn is a seasoned strategist with over 20 years of experience in global advocacy, government relations, and international development. She is recognized for turning complex policy ideas into actionable strategies that deliver measurable impact through collaboration with governments, multilateral institutions, and global partners.
As a Strategic Advisor, Robyn will support clients with:
Strategic advocacy and policy engagement, helping organizations refine and execute government relations and public affairs strategies that achieve meaningful outcomes.
International & domestic events.
Global partnership development, drawing on her extensive experience designing and negotiating co-investment and co-financing models that mobilize large-scale resources and foster public-private collaboration.
Coalition building and convening, leveraging her diplomatic skill and convening experience to align diverse interests, shape narratives, and drive policy change at national and international levels.
Coaching early and mid-career professionals looking to strengthen their government relations and strategic advocacy skills and to transition from skilled operator to strategic public affairs leader.
Robyn’s work will focus on supporting clients engaged in foreign affairs, global health, international partnerships, and development policy, as well as Canadian organizations seeking to expand their international engagement and influence. She will also contribute to domestic advocacy and government relations initiatives, bringing her deep understanding of Canadian policy and political systems, along with her strategic advocacy expertise and ability to translate complex ideas into persuasive action.
Before joining Beacon North, Robyn led groundbreaking initiatives at Nutrition International, where she helped mobilize over $500 million in health and nutrition investments through innovative partnerships. Her leadership in designing high-level global events, including Canada’s Nutrition for Growth Springboard event and ministerial roundtables at the UN and G7, demonstrates her ability to navigate complex political environments and deliver results that matter.
Clients will benefit from Robyn’s strategic clarity, political insight, and collaborative approach, as well as her deep domestic and international advocacy experience and wise counsel grounded in intellect, integrity, and a commitment to meaningful impact.
“Robyn was one of my first managers early in my career,” says Stephanie Mitton, Founder and CEO of Beacon North Strategies. “She is one of the most strategic and thought-provoking professionals I have had the privilege to work with. Her insights and analysis are consistently exceptional. Her global experience and proven excellence in advocacy are truly noteworthy. Robyn brings all of this with a genuine, collaborative spirit, and we could not be happier to welcome her to the Beacon North team.”
Robyn’s addition further strengthens Beacon North’s ability to deliver world-class strategy, advocacy, and insight to clients navigating Canada’s evolving domestic and international policy landscape. Beacon North remains committed to helping clients achieve impact across Canada and around the world.
